Drones have changed the way we see surfing. Not too long ago, big wave surfers were using freaking helicopters to capture aerial footage. Helicopters require pilots. In that helicopter sat a cameraman with a giant camera on his shoulder. Now, though, anyone with a few bucks and a vision can fly above the world’s best waves filming the world’s best surfers on tiny, high-definition cameras. We’re in the future, right?
This clip from Aerial Visions is a simple one: just two-and-a-half minutes of drone footage high above the End of the Road. No talking, no fancy edits. Just an incredible wave during an incredible two-day run of swell with a handful of incredible surfers.
