The Inertia

Kai Lenny can ride just about anything that floats. It’s likely that he could surf a literal door and make it look better than the average surfer on their favorite surfboard. But that doesn’t mean he wants to ride a door. Kai Lenny wants to ride the best possible equipment so that he can have as much fun as humanly possible. For Kai, riding a SUP is one of the most fun things he can do. Which is why the Vault project came to life.

“For years,” Quatro Maui wrote, “Kai Lenny has been refining a range of SUP boards that reflect how he reads the ocean. The Vault is the result of that journey, a full collection built through years of collaboration between Kai and master shaper Keith Teboul. Every board in the Vault was designed with intention, tuned for how Kai rides waves, cruises reefs, and connects with the ocean.”

The collection of stand-up paddle boards includes a pro model for the days that Kai wants something a little more high-performance, a mid-length for the in between days, and a log for everything else.

“While designing these boards,” Kai explained, “I wanted a specific feeling across each one of them. All three designs are completely different. That’s the point, because you can either choose the best board for you and for where you live or you can have three different sensations while going SUPping.”
