Foiling ain’t easy. Anyone who has tried it knows. There’s a reason why you don’t see a whole pile of people who are really, really good at it. It’s because it’s hard. Adam Bennetts, however, is one of the best foilers in the world, and that’s because he puts in the time. It’s also because he’s got a solid surfing background, but once he figured out how to ride a foil, he never looked back.
The video you see here, courtesy of Mr. Bennetts, is a great example of how a surf foil should be used. Not only skill-wise, but you’ll probably notice that Bennetts isn’t surfing a croweded point break. Instead, he found himself a fun, empty wave, and proceeded to do what he does best: absolutely tear apart every wave he’s riding.
