The Inertia

Brad Jacobson spends a lot of time filming surf up and down the Southern California coastline. It’s a good place for a guy who likes to film surfing, because there are more than a few fantastic waves. There’s only one Wedge, though, and when it’s firing, Jacobson is there.

“I headed to the Wedge in Newport Beach on Tuesday May 12 not knowing if there would be any decent-sized waves. I got luck, it was better than I thought,” he wrote on YouTube. “I spent an hour capturing the waves, surfing and the surrounding area.”

After that hour, he sat down in the editing bay, stared at the clips, and cut them all into the nine-minute video you see here. It’s classic Wedge, full of wipeouts, beatdowns, and yes, the occasional make.
