There are many ways to have fun in the ocean, despite the gate keepers who, for some reason or another, have decided that if you’re not on a standard, heavily-rockered thruster wearing an all-black wetsuit and scowling miserably at every other surfer, you’re not “core.” Those people, though, are missing out. Not only on being non-miserable people, but on having a whole ton of fun.
Adam Bennetts is not one of those people. Adam Bennetts can ride a standard thruster better than most, but his weapon of choice these days is the foil, much to the dismay of the people flapping around on the wrong surfboard for the conditions in an attempt to be a core lord.
If the waves are down and the wind is up, a foil and a parawing are a recipe for an absolute blast — as long as you’ve got the talent to use them properly. Bennetts has that talent, plus a bunch left in the tank.
Although he does indeed leave his Australia pretty frequently, it’s tough to beat the comforts of home, especially when the comforts of home come with the best way to spend an afternoon.
