A season pass can be a great investment with the proper planning and resources to pay for one. The sticker price is undoubtedly the first thing most people look for first when passes are announced for each upcoming season, and many inevitably bite the bullet knowing that a single season pass can pay for itself with enough days on the mountain. We overlook blackout dates and limitations easily. But one pass is promising no blackout dates in California and Nevada for $4,250 this upcoming season, along with one major perk that is nearly unheard of: it’s transferrable.
The Ski California Gold Pass is likely not for the everyday skier and rider content with their Ikon Pass, Epic Pass, Indy Pass, Cali Pass, etc. It’s more than double the price of the marquee products from Vail Resorts and Alterra Mountain Company. Unrestricted access to whoever is holding the Gold Pass on a given day, however, makes it useful for organizations or businesses. A press release from Ski California announced the number of passes being sold will be limited, although they did not provide a specific total.
“The Gold Pass is unmatched in terms of the access it provides all season long to the best skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing at ski areas in California and Nevada,” said John Rice, Ski California president. “Fully transferable so that it can be shared with family, friends, employees or clients, the Gold Pass has no blackout dates, offers unlimited use at participating ski areas, and includes direct-to-lift access at most of the 36 ski areas. It truly is the ultimate ski pass.”
